  • 29er durability vs. 26

Well, it looks like I have made my decision and go ahead with a nimbus 29 for on and off road use. However I do have some concerns dealing with a 29's ability to take punishment; specifically from drops, hops, and the usual kamikaze actions a uni takes when you lose one.
I am really afraid a 29 could get tacoed or destroyed after a few hard miscalculated landings or not looking before I leap. I won't necessarily be doing big drops or gaps; I'll just be going on some nice horse, foot and bike trails around here. Rain creates some rough terrain around here (sometimes I even have to walk my mountain bike) and I want to make sure that a 29 will be able to take some punishment. I would hate to ride five miles away and have it snap, forcing a long trudge home.
I'm not afraid of the bullet with my name on it, it's the ones around it destined for whoever that I'm watching out for.
