My luggage hand scale arrived today. So here is the weight of the complete wheelset: 4.5 kg / 9.92 lbs.

Not bad at all for such a wheel (trust me, it is bigger IRL).

Anyone ridden the Vee Rubber Mission tire? How'd it do?

I've ridden the Vee Rubber Mission on a fatbike only, might be good for the summer in dry condition, but it's not good for snow riding! The knobs aren't agressive enough to grip on anything. I have 2 45Nrth Husker Du on my Fatbike, and they are much faster rolling than the Surly Nate and grip just perfect.

I actually want to run the on one floaters, but have to wait for stock. V8s look uber nice too, but Im pretty set on floaters. I thought the missions would be fairly comparable, but reviews are very mixed. Some love them, some don't.

I was really set on tan wall nates until I got looking around.

Have you started on my frame yet????

                  Your frame is done...

I was actually able to pre order the color I wanted, so life is good. I even bought two. Everything Ive read says the floaters are an awesome tire, and have an unbeatable price. My two cost less than one nate.

Can't wait for the frame! Ill pm you as soon as I get off work.

All tyres should definately come in bright colours. I have a Twin Rail on my 29er (Not a MTB tyre I know) that only comes in black, skinwall or whitewall, but the 700c versions have like 6 colour options. I'd happily pay more for a red or yellow 29er one

                        I just bought a pink floater .
It was only £30 including shipping from the UK to the US. Why are they so cheap? I've got this too-good-to-be-true feeling like I've just been scammed somehow.

Do some reading on them, they are an excellent tire. I think Surlys kind of got the market cornered for fat bike stuff and is able to upcharge as much as they feel like. Then a place like On one and Vee rubber comes along and sells their stuff for more realistic prices. I think eventually they'll drive Surlys prices down a bit. That's what I take from all this anyway.

My two Floaters shipped today for less than the price of one Nate.

Now I'm off to buy my 200$ Surly rim .

It'll be interesting to see how Innova (Surly's tire mfg.) responds to Vees new offerings.

I'm very new to the fat bike thing and it's cool to see how much innovation and change is happening constantly.

I got my new Floaters today. Sweet Jesus they seem huge. I love the color (mine are Orange). I got two of them so if they were to go out of production in the future I'll have a spare.

They are labeled as a 4" tire, and just throwing a tape measure across the tread makes them look like they're going to be damn close to 4" if not spot on once mounted to a rim.

                            Very excited...
