    Stumbled upon this 18th century painting of Britannia today.
    Perhaps this is how she rode into battle?

          It must have been some other nocturnal ball sport because basketball hadn't been invented. At least there's no mistaking the UW.

            That basketball might actually be a human head that is being carried. UW, human head, lantern . . .and I thought unicycle polo was a crazy game.
