    Hi~

We were trying to replace our black tires with white ones, and we ran into some
interesting problems. We have a bike with 24" white tires, so we wanted to put
them on our 24" unicycles, but oddly enough, they would not fit. The same thing
happened with one of our 20" bike tires that we wanted to put on our 20" uni -
wouldn't fit. However, on a DIFFERENT 20" uni, the exact tire fit just fine.
    We're confused! Any insights?

Also - our bike shop said white tires in 24" aren't available - is this true???

    Thanks, Tammy

Sounds like one of those rims is an old Schwinn S-7. Today's tires don't fit on
it. The rim might not be marked, but if it's an old Schwinn, with a strip of
textured area down the center (between the spoke holes), it's one of those old
rims. Most tires for those rims, if you find any, are probably real old, and you
would be better off discarding the rim for something newer and maybe alloy.

It's true that your bike shop isn't interested in looking. I think Tom Miller
(The Unicycle Factory, 765-452-2692) still has a big pile of white 24" tires
that are good indoor/outdoor and even decent on trails. And cheap!

Otherwise, white 24" tires are probably pretty rare and hard to find.
