  • A dangerous obsession

This is getting silly. We've just started going to a pub within unicycling distance... and I've just found out how to jump around much better... and I watched the Universe video the other day... and I ordered a new MUni yesterday... and I've not unicycled at all today due to my leg being rather sore... and I can't wait to go back to York simply because of the new unicycling opportunities around campus... and... and...

I think I'm becoming obsessed. Even more than normal. Is this safe? Hell, I've now got a picture of a unicycle on my desktop.

Excuse me while I go and hand myself in to the proper authorities.

    Phil, just me

Yes, this is safe. And, incidentally, we are the proper authorities.

My desktop at work has the picture from Krisholm.com where somebody (it doesn't say who) is doing a really cool, high sidehop

I, as well, may need counselling

Sorry folks, looks like I won't have it restored and re-assembled in time
for NAUCC/UNICON. It'll have to be some year when I'm not president of both
            organizations... :-)

Your not the only one who is obsessed.

Desktop image at home: A photoshop doctored image of my MUni - when I ordered it, I doctored up this image so I could see what the stock power pashley looks like with the miyata airseat. It looks pretty close to the real thing, actually.

Desktop image at work: Youve seen those pics of the Unis going by the moon ala ET. I took a different shot from the movie, where you see Elliot's friends flying and looking all surprised, and I photoshopped KH into it (a pic of Kris doing his high jump - Kris's site is the only place I could find decent pics of a guy on a uni). It looks pretty good, and one kid is looking right at Kris with a "What the hell!" look on his face.

                  Uni obsession? Bring it....

I knew I was getting obsessed when...

Last Sunday I did about 2 1/2 hours off road on the Muni, came home totally knack'd, then cleaned up, got changed and went out for 1 1/2 hours on the 20, teaching my mate to freemount. We ended up going for a short ride and having a race. I got home totally knack'd and had a bath, then thought, 'Oh, I've an hour or two before it gets dark; should I go for a uni ride?'

Yeah... sounds like my saturday; went out for an hour; came back sweating buckets; cooled down; went out for another hour; repeat four times until I just had to stop because my left leg would have fallen off.

I've just started looking after someone doing work experience at work (cor, I feel old now...) - I wonder what he'd think if I turn up on my unicycle. Hmmm...
