now what arguments can i use to convince my wife that life is not worth living without it.??
Well, with a GUni you'll finally wear all that safety gear she's been bugging you to put on
It is well known that a vital ingredient of success is not knowing that what you're attempting can't be done. A person ignorant of the possibility of failure can be a half-brick in the path of the bicycle of history.

          • Now Im asking if somebody can calculate spoke length for 36" Nimbus Stealth II rim for me.

            • Is 70 really the flange width? Seems to be only the inside of the flange.

Hello, thanks for the cool picture.

I apologize i this information has been covered elsewhere. I've read all the Schlumpf threads, but still need clarification on the following:

** I am *hoping" to install the 2016 mUni hub into a Nimbus Equinox frame.

** The picture you included does 'not' include the diameter of the bearing.

** Shlumpf Innovations' website lists the bearing diameter as 42mm (but I don't know if that information is from the previous model).

** UDC website says the bearing specs for the Equinox are 22mm x 42mm x 12mm.

Based on what I know, the mUni hub 'will' work in the Equinox frame. There has been some discussion about the new-generation Schlumpf hub fitting into non-KH frames, and I'm hoping that is true.

Am I missing any information? If you're wondering why I'd do something as stupid as install a Schlumpf into a 20", feel free to chime in, but I am mostly needing clarification on the above compatibility issue.

                      Thanks!

                      • Few days ago i made a comparison of spoke calculators.
The entry values were ERD 551mm, offset 0mm, spoke hole circle 90mm, flange width 75mm, flange hole diameter 2.9mm, 3 cross. (These were the values I had at the moment.) Some spoke calculators even gave out shorter spoke length when choosing longer nipples which makes no sense as the thread of the nipple is in the upper end.
                        Here are the results:

Possibly you may need to file the inner shoulder of the bearing housing to reach the 38mm diameter and 3mm thicknes needed for the Schlumpf hub.
Right at the moment I'm doing this on my QX frame.

                          • 99.5mm is the diameter of the flange, not the diameter at the spokes holes, so we cannot yet calculate spoke length ....

                              ... but 91mm is.

Thanks for the information. I am not skilled at using tools, so I will most likely find a machinist to do the job. If a KH trials uni would fit the hub with no alteration, I might also consider that ... however, I like my Equinox frame, particularly the wide crown, and would prefer to have it paired with the Schlumpf hub.
