Kris showed me what was possible on a unicycle when I started riding.

Terry showed me I wasn't too old to get awesome.

Seriously though, when I found my 1st uni in the fall of '99, the only videos I found really were of Kris' "One Tired Guy" trailer. Not good for learning how to ride, but gave me something to aim for.

When I saw Universe II, I started wishing that I had started riding younger, because I don't think I'll ever get anywhere at flat and street (even in my mid twenties, my 180 unspins were weak, and I've never landed a 360 unispin).

Muni i can do, and after watching Terry's progression (I think I remember watching one of his early vids and thinking "Awww, that 50 year old guy can bunny hop, good for him!") I know I can keep muniing for a few more decades.

And of course, KH gear means my unis won't break on me

I've daydreamed about that for a few years now, but the realities of a start-up venture like that would be costly and risky. Having said that, my LBS likes the idea!
I like the "Wild Bunch" idea. I put my hat in that ring with pride.
Terry, your vids and the comments from the 50+ crowd on this forum enforce my enthusiasm toward this awsome and fun sport. I am finding the older I get the more I am proud of the progress I have earned in the 3 years since my return to the Muni catagory of this sport. My story is like yours. I learned on a uni I got for Christmas when I was 12. It was a schwinn 20" so keeping up with friends on two wheels was impossible.

          My Motivation to begin riding

I begin riding on my 50's and my first motivators were Terry and Shug Emery. Both "seasoned" uni riders. Both are great easily accessible regular guys, each with a great sense of humor. My thanks to both of them and what they do for the sport and making U-tube a fun place to visit.
Torker 20, KH 24 (my baby), KH 29,

Thanks Bluesman and all for the very nice comments. Yes, Sean "Shug" Emery is a great guy and very talented performer!
Happy Birthday Terry! Every year you get cooler, younger and unicyclier!
