A good deal i think. But I don't think asking people for donations is a good idea. Its having them do the hardest part of the project. Not to mention it is pretty rude...

Not very original research, it's all been done before a multitude of times, i'll give you the $400 for the carbon if you give me 400 for a new KH

How'd you come up with the amount of carbon fibre and epoxy needed?

                    Hmmm...

According to that site, 1 gallon of resin is 8 lbs. So 8 gallons, is 64 lbs. 5 yards of carbon fabric at 5.7 oz per square yard, 50" wide, is 2.5 lbs.

                    A 66 lbs unicycle! Wow.

What, educated from one of those "we'll mail you a degree" schools?

Go to the library, young Jedi, there have been many masters of carbon fibering who have written tomes to aid you in your quest...

Furthermore, the fiber can be very hazardous to handle, and the epoxy fumes can create a dangerous situation... make sure you're fully aware of the implications of using such materials, and you're prepared to mitigate the dangers. You don't want to end up with lung cancer over a "backyard project"!

Carbon fiber slivers can dig deep... apparently they tend to dig themselves deeper... so make sure you wear gloves.

Epoxy can cause skin cancer and lung cancer.... wear gloves and a resperator... or at least have it be well ventilated.

I already have a carbon uni, that I funded myself. Are you doing actual research, or did you just want an experimental carbon uni?

Or do you want to buy mine?

It would be more than $400.
